Born in Cajamarca, Peru in 1963, Luzanquis has gained a reputation for creating exquisite still-life paintings that display the intricate detail and complex composition reminiscent of the great Dutch masters.

Luzanquis masterful use of light and darkness, and the play of shadows, reflections, and refracted light on glass and silver, is reminiscent of the still-lifes of the Renaissance. However, his composition and use of space and depth provide a thoroughly modern perspective of classic subject matter.

Over the past 15 years, Luzanquis has participated in numerous exhibits, and has developed a loyal following in both England and the United States.
